Sumter County Marijuana Possession with Intent to Sell Dismissal
Wildwood Police Department stopped a vehicle with a non-functioning headlight. There were four occupants in the vehicle. The front seat passenger possessed $3,038 in cash and over 25 grams of marijuana split among multiple bags were located inside the vehicle. None of the occupants maintained a medical marijuana card. One of the occupants of the vehicle accused the driver and the front passenger of being the owners of the marijuana.
The driver plead to a possession charge but the front passenger hired Meldon Law. After doing investigations and depositions for the case, the Meldon law attorneys determined there were factual discrepancies and evidentiary issues and, after consulting with the client, set the case for trial. The Thursday before jury selection, the State Attorney dismissed the case entirely.
