Charges: Possession of Alcohol by a Person Under 21 Years of Age
A Gainesville Police Department officer observed the defendant holding a “solo” style cup containing vodka. The contents had the smell and consistency of an alcoholic beverage. The defendant was 20 years old at the time of the offense and was less than one month away from turning 21 years old.
The defendant retained Meldon Law and we were able to enroll the defendant in the deferred prosecution program. This program established special conditions that, if satisfied within four months, would result in a dismissal of the charges against the defendant. Those conditions included charitable donations and completion of community service. The defendant was able to complete the requirements in the deferred prosecution agreement and the State dismissed all charges in this matter.
