After mis-diagnosing a foot sprain and discharging the patient, emergency room personnel did not follow-up, following a positive read by the hospital’s radiologist, to refer the patient to an orthopedic surgeon for treatment of the multiple comminuted fractures. The delay resulted in a permanent disability to the foot. Case settled at Mediation after Litigation was initiated.
