Meldon Law Secure Lesser Charge of Reckless Driving With Alcohol
A driver rear-ended another vehicle, resulting in the other driver being taken to the hospital. Responding Gainesville Police Department officers noted a moderate smell of alcohol emitting from the driver’s person and observed her wearing a blue wrist band. The driver claimed to have been working at Salty Dog Bar and explained that she smelled of alcohol because customers had spilled drinks on her. She refused to perform field sobriety exercises or submit to a breath test.
Despite her involvement in a car accident, attorneys at Meldon Law were able to secure a lesser charge of Reckless Driving with Alcohol (first offense). The driver successfully completed probation, which was thereafter revoked and terminated.
