What is the Veterans Making A Difference Program?
The Meldon Law/CBS4 News Veterans Making A Difference Program is an initiative established to honor veterans, or veteran organizations, in the North Central Florida community. It’s our way of saying Thank you and giving back to veterans who have given so much to their community and country.
Any Veteran or Veteran Organization that is making a positive impact on the community is eligible to be nominated and those selected will receive recognition on CBS4 News, a $500 cash award and a customized plaque.

Greg Fussell – Vietnam Veteran
Introducing our next Meldon Law/CBS4 Veterans Making a Difference award winner, Greg Fussell! Greg is a 4-year Naval Air Veteran, 2 of those being spent in Vietnam. He spends his time volunteering and tutoring 5 th graders at Lawton Chiles Elementary School. “I just enjoy working with children and seeing if there’s anything that I can teach them about life that’s coming down the road,” says Greg Fussell. Thank you for your service to the country and the community, Mr. Fussell!

Ron Cadle – US Marine Corps and Vietnam Veteran
The newest winner of the Meldon Law/CBS4 News – WGFL Veterans Making A Difference award is US Marine Corps and Vietnam Veteran, Ron Cadle!
Cadle began Hooked on Heroes Live Oak Fla. in 2015 and has had a great time taking veterans out fishing since. Thank you Ron for your service to our country and to our community!
